Caden’s Christmas Ornaments!

Check out Caden’s Christmas Ornaments!

I helped a bit, but mostly these are Caden’s vision. I’m thinking there might be more mother and son collaborations in the near future! :)

What do you think?

Sybling Rilvary

Apparently Tonka was so fed up with Caden getting all of the attention during our Christmas photo shoot, he decided to take center stage:

And Bobbi, this shot is for you:

My *secret* to keeping the tree safe is jingle bells!

The Life and Times of Mr. C

Every Christmas I put together a set of photos that celebrates the life and times of Mr. C. as a grandparent gift. I’m currently working on this year’s set (which most of you have seen here on the blog), but I thought (since this project always leaves me feeling horribly sentimental) it would be fun to share some pictures of my wild monkey child from previous years. I’m using the excuse that I view my photography as an art form! Here are some of my favorites:

Awe, what a trip down memory lane! Now I’m feeling all "verklempt"! Dab Dab.
I’m hoping my handsome little model will be feeling cooperative later today because I would really like to attempt a Christmas themed photo shoot to finish off the 2007 grandparent collection. If you have any idea what it is like working with an over active 4 year old, then you know I desperately need you to wish me luck! It was so much easier when he was just a blob and I could prop him up with some stuffed animals! Oh well, action shots are good too, right? :)

Happy Holidays!

Christmas Tree

Heather’s Medallion party was canceled due to the enormous snow storm we were hit with on Sunday, so instead, we prepared for the weather and started our Christmas festivities. First, the reindeer were fed:

And then the Mr. cut down a big fat beautiful tree from the tree farm next door. Here it is decorated:

Caden and I made that huge sparkle-rific tree topper! Here is a closer look:

Ohhhh, awwww! Well, okay, so maybe not, but Caden had fun and he loves it! And that’s what it is all about! :) Christmas has officially begun at the Exalted Beauty household. Christmas baking and craft projects are well underway. And as usual, I started everything way too late! So now I am in the midst of the annual pre-Christmas panic! Oh what fun it is! Happy Holidays!

[By the way, I was kidding about the Reindeer, that picture is from our recent trip to Santa’s Village!

Animal Medallions

Here are the Exalted Beauty Animal Medallions in Copper, Gold and Silver (on the scanner):

Here is a closer look at the 12 layer metallic finish (in the sunlight):

Why 12 layers you ask? Well, besides being completely crazy, 12 layers was the point in which I achieved this luminescent, glowing, radiant color! These medallions appear to have been made from an intriguing new material derived from a combination of metal, glass, and ceramic. I love the contrast between the shimmering finish and the primitive style carving. The final result is a fun and unique collection of hand sculpted animal jewelry.

I can’t wait to hear what you think?

Side Note: When I was photographing the pieces above I was thrilled to discover that this finish is so multifaceted and shiny that it not only has the ability to capture and radiate light, it also reflects what you are wearing! Had I known this before I shot the image above, I would have worn something more neutral. As it is, if you look closely, you can see 12 tiny portraits of me wearing a bright red Patriots t-shirt. Oooops! Anyway, you get the point.

What’s next? I’m currently working on the Animal Medallion backs:

And if all goes according to plan (and I don’t collapse from exhaustion), I hope to have these beaded, photographed and cataloged by the end of the week, just in time for Heather’s Medallion party!
