Womb Sculpture

In the spirit if sharing some more of my *old* work I thought I would present a sculpture I completed in 1992 (this was for a class assignment my freshman year at Parsons School of Design):

This sculpture is entitled “Womb”. The materials for this piece are translucent acrylic bowls and clear Lucite balls purchased in a plastic supply shop in China Town, NYC. The light source is a string of white Christmas tree lights placed in individual settings cut into one of the central balls. The entire piece was fused together with plastic cement. 15” W x 18” H. This photograph of Womb was taken in 2004. Womb is currently in storage.
