The Last Blooms

Frost arrived weeks ago turning the Wildflower Meadow dormant (or so we thought). The Mr. went about with his usual winterizing schedule which includes cropping the meadow to prepare it for next season. However, he left the back Wildflower bank to be cut at a later date. I am glad he did because it has been interesting to watch the annual wildflowers continue to bloom and survive through the frosts. Most of the late season survivors aren’t as robust and perfect as their mid-summer counterparts but they are in some ways more beautiful.
