A Woman’s Worth

One thing that seems to be a reoccurring theme throughout my body of work is the idea of a woman’s worth. My paintings have ranged from feeling angry with the need/desire to expose the darker side from a societal (mostly male) perspective, using my art as accusation, to creating more positive work that celebrated womanhood by focusing on the unique and separate abilities and functions our feminine bodies. I still seem to be stuck in the duality of thought, as probably, are most women. Here are some pieces from the mid 90’s exemplifying both perspectives:
