Project Sleuth

Caden received his first big homework assignment; something the school calls “Project Sleuth”. The theme for the Kindergartner's was “I’m Me, I’m Special”.

Here was Caden’s book cover:

Here are a few of the interior pages featuring more of Caden’s colored pencil work:

Here is the 3D aspect of the project, Jody and I built the shadow box and Caden created the sculptures out of polymer clay and completed them with acrylic paint:

And finally here is the life sized body drawing the kids completed in class with Mr. Woodie (also on exhibit the night of the Project Sleuth presentation):

This was our first taste of the homework experience. We learned that next time we should begin when the assignment is given, rather then the weekend before it is due. :) I think we knew that but you know how it goes. Anyway, the kids had a great time sharing about themselves and learning new things about their friends. The projects were diversely interpreted and a wonder to observe. It was definitely one of those memory making events that we will cherish.
